THE COTTON LOFT
A contemporary self-catering holiday studio in the heart of the Peak District
The Cotton Loft

About The Cotton Loft

‘The Cotton Loft’ in Litton is a small modern holiday studio, situated above and to the rear of the owners’ new limestone garage, suitable for one or two guests.

The name stems from the long associations that Litton has with the cotton industry, being less than a couple of miles from the mills at Cressbrook and the notorious Litton Mill, known for it's high rate of apprentice mortality. Their heydays were in the 19th century, when high quality cotton was produced for lace-making, but over the years they struggled to make a profit and eventually closed towards the end of the 20th century. Both impressive buildings are now converted into residential use.

Providing a peaceful and relaxing base from which to explore the beautiful Peak District National Park, the studio offers guests the freedom of simple basic self-catering accommodation (microwave, toaster, kettle), whilst still allowing for the option to dine out locally.  With walks from the doorstep into stunning countryside with some breath-taking views, the Cotton Loft is in the perfect location to get the most from your short break.

The studio is composed of a mini kitchenette area, accessed via a 5”/13cm step, which is equipped with the basics of a toaster, kettle, microwave and small fridge (just perfect for a continental breakfast, pre-prepped meal or light bite!). The shower room is adjacent to the kitchenette and the living/sleeping area is upstairs via 11 steps. The sofa converts into the double sofa-bed, sleeping 2, and there is a TV/DVD combi and free wi-fi for your use. There is off-the-road car parking space for 1 car, and secure storage for bikes and walking/caving/climbing equipment if required.
